Hello Scotty, I’m a big fan. First question. I have a 2019 Honda HRV and I have about 64,000 miles on it. I have yet to do the transmission fluid change. Is this necessary for me to do? I’ve heard that I should do it when I went to Valvoline because I should’ve done it at 40,000 miles and another mechanic told me it’s not necessary because if it’s a newer car. What should I do second question I also have a 2019 Dodge grand caravan and I have some issues with the Transmission. Should I get it rebuilt? It has over 140,000 miles on it and it’s causing some problems. Is it worth it? Or should I get another vehicle? Thank you love your channel.

I’ve heard that I should do it when I went to Valvoline because I should’ve done it at 40,000 miles and another mechanic told me it’s not necessary because if it’s a newer car.

Firstly, you should not be going to a quick lube joint to have your car serviced. The people there are not experienced mechanics. They barely have enough training to change fluids and frequently mess that up. Horror stories galore come out of those places.

As far as changing your transmission fluid that is the most common question asked here (quite literally thousands of times), so all of the information necessary to make an informed decision has been collected in the site FAQ. The short answer is that it's probably OK at that mileage. Hondas are particular about fluids so use only genuine Honda transmission fluid.
