Hi Scotty what are your thoughts on getting a used 2015 C7 Z51 with 23,000 mi for $43,000? It's been owned by 2 previous owners and there is hardly any wear on it. Seems like it's been kept in a garage when it's not in use. The undercarriage is like new, which may indicate it has barely been driven in the rain.

Make sure to have a mechanic verify the mechanical condition and Scotty mentioned Camaro vs Corvette in his latest video. Basically, he would consider the Corvette as it has a higher resale value.

A couple of items to think about:

1. C7 had the tightest cockpit of any Corvette ever made. So make sure you are comfortable in it before you buy.

2. Have a mechanic check it out and really pay attention to the transmission. Both the M7 and Auto have had known issues.

I personally would pass on the C7 because I work on them all the time and there is always something going wrong. And problems are happening on low mileage cars as well as even the 2019 model:

If you are open to dealing with all the issues that may happen, go for it. Corvettes are a fun drive..when they are working correctly.

If it checks out with a mechanic go on and buy it!

I asked a similar question on behalf of a coworker/friend and thanks to Mod_Man my friend backed out.  Since he works on them, it’d be wise to follow his advice.

I looked on the Corvette Forums a little bit and there’s enough issues (especially electrical which GM has not been known for) that if you must have a C7 get one under warranty, esp. under extended warranty (using the one the Corvette Forum users use).  From all I read recently I would not want one without a good warranty.

If you want an alternative sports car recommendation, let us know.  I don’t what criteria you are looking for.
