2015 Equinox Transmission

Two weeks ago we had major flooding in New Jersey. I had to drive through it to get home. I was just looking at your video about Automatic Transmission, and when and if water get inside the engine.  I was able to get home that night, and have been driving the truck since then. Should I have the Transmission fluid changed? It was changed in April of this year.

Keep up the good work, and God Bless!

What’s the fluid condition & level, at present?

I would, just to be on the safe side.

Also, I’d check all other fluids & check for signs of any water ingress/contamination.

Would the transmission need to be power flushed?

This is a question that will be best answered by a professional transmission shop who’s looking at the condition of the fluid in your transmission, assuming water DID enter inside. If the fluid is clean and shows no signs of water ingress, a drain & fill should be sufficient (no flush).
