Hi, my wife and I own a 2015 Ford Explorer XLT 130k miles on her, but 90% highway cruise control.
We noticed this rust forming on the tailgate and then it prompted me to look throughout its exterior for more and I came across the front rust above the windshield. https://imgur.com/a/M35ct4n
This shouldn't be happening with a 6 year old vehicle, right? Should I get it fixed or is it an alright DIY?
Thanks guys

Depends on conditions, and highways are particularly punishing. I see the van beside your SUV isn't doing great either.
Not much you can do at this point. The tailgate can probably be rescued, but if water is pooling underneath it then the rust will come back.
