Hi my name is Patrick. I have a 2015 Fourunner Sr-5 2 wheel drive,86,000 miles. I would like some expert advice/opinion on the fifth gen Fourunner (from 2010-2019 years) as far as the engine knock sounds that you can hear on the driver's side fender well area that they are notorious for. I have listened to at least ten different ones on car lots with various mileage and years with the same sound as mine. It's has had me worried to death for months! The only way I can describe it is faint rod knock but doesn't do it under load or acceleration. It also seems to get significantly quieter as the engine heats up.,but it's still faintly there.

Thanks for responding to me in a timely manner with your highly valued answer. Been a fan for a long time. Thanks for your contributions to average, non rich, blue collar ,hardworking family men like me that enjoy working on there on vehicles.

Well it's not really bradnock usually it's the timing on a variable valve timing system to do that as long as they run okay most guys live with it
