2015 GMC Sierra Paint Fail - Should I trade my GMC for new 2022 Tundra?

Hi Scotty, My 2015 GMC Sierra Crew Cab (Sierra White) with 14k miles was manufactured in Mexico like the Toyota Tacoma in your video. My paint is peeling and GM has told me they will give me 15% discount on repainting my door. My cost is $575 to cover their manufacturer defect. I am really disappointed. This is a known global issue and GM will not stand behind their product. I worked for GM for 5 years and have personally assisted GM's CEO Mary Barra with her family/friends discount for a colleague of hers to purchase a new Sierra too. Anyhow, I feel betrayed by GM. Their product is garbage. I have the 5.3L engine with AFM and it the lifter's ticked since I bought the truck new. I have 2 other GM cars that I drive mostly. My truck sits in the garage with 14k miles. I have pictures of the paint peeling if you are interested.

Yes please post the photos. I also have a white GMC (from Wentzville)

I'm amazed they even offered you 15% for a 7yo vehicle.

you have fairly low mileage, so if you can disable the AFM and get the paint fixed for $500 then it could still be worth keeping

@mmj is correct, disable the Cyl deactivation and repaint the door. I would be very hesitant to buy a new 2022 Tundra. Overpriced and unproven.
