2015 Honda Civic transmission

I had a 2015 Honda CR-V where the transmission blew up on it at about 80,000 miles a year ago and this week I have a 2015 Honda Civic which just blew up at 80,000 miles both were bought brand new and from the same dealer. Is there anything I can do to get them to pay for this? seems like bad quality if there both from the same year and dealer and they both blew up same mileage.

2014-2015 Civics had CVT problems, Scotty even mentioned it on his Civic video

2013 had the 5 speed automatic which was a lot more reliable

All manufacturers have transmission problems when they introduce a new one not really bad quality rather how things work whether it be Toyota Honda or Nissan.

I am curious, what type of transmission blew up?

I think it’s a continuous variable transmission I could be wrong

The 2015 MY Honda CR-V all came equipped with the CVT, first year of implementation in the CR-V here in North America. 2012-2014 had a regular 5-speed AT.

They recalled those trannies on the Civic to update its software but no software can fix a mechanically flawed tranny.
They’re not the worst I’ve seen on Hondas. I’ve herd that some civics (I think it was diesel only but I’m not sure) have ZF built transmissions that last all of 90,000 miles.

2015 Civics LX trim came standard with 5-speed manual but CVT was optional. However, all other trims (HF, SE, EX, EX-L) came with CVT only.
