Hey Scotty,
My friend 2015 Hyundai Sonata with 83,000 miles and the oil light comes on, but when he presses the gas pedal it disappear until come to stop signs and comes back.

Verify the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge. If it really is that low the engine is probably shot. Is there enough oil in it?
Yes, always keep it maintained well.
Like I said, check it with a gauge. Low oil pressure is usually caused by worn bearings or bad oil pump.
