Hello Scott,

Huge fan! I have a 2015 Mazda 3, 2.0L automatic transmission and roughly 120,000 miles. Runs great no issues. I was just wondering when should I consider changing the timing chain before something of consequence happens? I've also changed the radiator fluid, not to long ago, but didn't consider changing the water pump or serpentine belts. When would be a good idea to change those. Keep in mind the car has no trouble codes and running just fine. Just trying to be preventative is all. Thanks a lot!

The timing chain is not supposed to be changed unless you have some symptoms. It is not similar to timing belt that you are supposed change it. If you change the oil frequently, you should not have issues with it.

Depends on the vehicle but most timing chains, guides and tensioners are changed out at about 120-150k miles.  You'll know when it's time when, on a cold start on a cold morning, you'll hear the chain rattle on start up.
