Hey I have a 15 Tacoma pre runner I’m hearing a noise that sounds like a hum or excessive engine noise kind of noise if that makes any sense lol and I figured we’ll my front wheel bearings are shot, replaced both front wheel bearings and hubs and still hear it, also checked tire pressure and tires and they seem fine, rotated then as well, everything seems solid, any ideas? It’s 2wd I also replaced the u joints and carrier bearing few months back all parts are genuine Toyota replacements! I did notice my front tires have excessive wear on the outside and as they go in they’re pretty good thread wise, would it be suspension noise? It sounds like a wheel bearing or if you have a manual car sitting at 4K cruising
Wear on the outside of the tire indicates excessive positive camber or too much toe in.
Could be lots of things tell you what make a YouTube video and post the URL here and I will listen
Hey Scotty, I tried catching the noise on video but it’s so faint when I play the video back you literally hear nothing haha, it’s right around 45-55mph higher the speed more you hear, little shaking in the festering wheel too the faster I go, front tires have more wear on the outer edges than the inside and middle, which look to be almost new looking, replaced the front wheel bearings and hubs and still hear it, was told it is probably cupping of the tires? Feel a little vibration too. And a squeak over bumps, I’m guessing my shocks are worn out, causing the tires to wear a good bit on one side which then is cupping them?
Here you go Scotty, I can’t really hear it on video, but here’s a video I made https://youtube.com/shorts/uQgjoNHwqag?feature=share
If you listen with earphones in you can hear it actually
