2015 Toyota Avalon clunking noise when turning steering wheel

Hi Scotty, I have a 2015 Toyota Avalon XLE Touring automatic transmission with just over 90,000 miles (no OBDll codes) and I hear a clunking noise as I turn the steering wheel. It seems to be coming from the power steering unit. The power steering works fine. Should I replace the power steering unit? My other question is the spark plugs are original, when should they be replaced?

@snojet
Check Your ball joints and CV drive shaft, i had a bad experience 2 days ago with same problem. My Honda stopped in the middle of the town road , thank god it was not highway otherwise i would be dead. My ball joint failed, you should be careful

Does the noise appear when you’re turning & accelerating from a stop?

Watch Scotty’s video on power steering noises - https://youtu.be/bgs_Z0Vr8zI

Unless you know what is causing the noise, it can never be fixed.

First step: Get a stethoscope, find out where the noise is coming from.

From there, any good mechanic can determine what could NOT make the noise, and what MIGHT be making the noise.

The rest is just grunt work in getting it fixed.

The noise occurs both when I am stopped and turn the wheel and when I am turning and accelerating.
