Hi everyone,
I am new guy here and someone gifted me a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta over the summer that now has 122k miles on it. When I received the car in July it only had 119k miles. I have been having the same problem since I bought it though which is everyone time I pull up to a gas station and completely refuel I have to try and get my car started about 15 times before I am able to hit the road again. It has this same problem when I refuel with more gas in the tank but it doesn't take as long to get the car back on the road. When I am driving the car between refueling it feels great and I don't have any problems. Also, my check engine light is constantly on. I went to my local autozone a month and a half ago and they scanned it and said it was just that there was a little gas leak. I also went to a mechanic and he charged me $60 just to tell me that I needed a gas fuel cap because the one I was using needed to be replaced and that was causing my problems. However, I have now bought a new fuel cap and tightened it as much as I could but the problem still persist. Does anyone know what my problem is and how to fix it
Evap canister more than likely. Its the thing that relieves fuel pressure in the tank while you are refueling. It is under vacuum and has hoses coming to and from the gas tank and from the intake.
