My friend has a 2016 BMW 528i Xdrive, that will not go into gear. The car starts and runs okay but will not go into gear. The car has an Transmission Malfunction error on display. We replaced the battery but did not help the situation. I got the following codes.

Take the car to a BMW mechanic to use his scan tool and analyze the data.

The BMW scan tool software or a more advanced scan tool will tell you the faults. That’s what the bmw mechanics usually go by, faults. Aka codes. But they have very specialized codes.
