rough shifting

Dear Scotty,

I currently have a 2016 Buick Encore 1.4L 4 Cylinder turbo that has a little more than 89k miles on it. For the last year I’ve noticed that the transmission has been shifting more and more roughly. As of late it will jerk really hard when shifting from 2nd into 3rd, then get stuck, and refuse to accelerate. I’ve taken it to a local shop after the dealership refused to fully diagnose it, and the local shop said they couldn’t figure out what the issues was, unless they took the time to disassemble the transmission. Is it worth it to have them diagnose it, is it worth replacing the transmission, how long do these types of cars with this engine usually last? Is it worth putting another transmission in it?

No that's kind of junky little cars fire you. I just get rid of the thing. Or drive it till it fell apart. I wouldn't put any kind of serious money into that thing. They're not very well made
