2016 Chevy Malibu Locks Do Not Work in Extreme Cold

Hi, Scotty. My 2016 Malibu locks do not work in extremely cold weather. The locks start working after the cabin warms up. This started last winter. I recently got a brand new battery and I had AutoZone hook up a scan tool but there were no error codes. I would appreciate your thoughts on what might be causing this. Thank you.

Well, if you're talking about the electronic parts where you push your button and they all open and they all lock then you have an electronic failure problem generally in the receiving unit inside the vehicle. But if they don't unlock at all and you have a key it would mean your locks are freezing from water getting in them

Are you pushing the unlock button on the door and none of the doors unlock? If so would start by checking the unlock switch in the door and also check the relay in the fuse box for the door locks.

If there's another relay in the fuse box that's exactly the same as the door lock relay, you can try swapping them and see if that fixes the issue.
