2016 Dodge Grand Caravan se plus - the cover on the engine is it necessary?

The purpose is:
-
It helps to muffle the ticking of the valvetrain and fuel injection.
-
It protects the plug wires, harness, connectors, and other electrical components.
In addition, it might help the engine warm up quicker in the winter time. On some cars, I hear it keeps the hood from warping.
