Hey, I’ve got a 2016 Ford Explorer with 206,000 miles on it with the 3.5 NA v6 in it. It has the notorious water pump leak and I am having to put about an oz of fluid back in per week. Do you recommend I put anything into my radiator fluid to plug the leak?

Unfortunately, those engines are notorious for that. To make matters worse the water pump (which is internal to the engine unlike with a normal engine) is driven by a timing chain.  If the water pump goes and is not replaced, you can potentially say goodbye engine.  I am surprised the water pump didn’t fail on you sooner.  In any event, the water pump will have to be replaced (which requires engine to be taken apart).

Nothing you put in the radiator will plug that leak and if the water pump is not repaired very soon that internal coolant leak will destroy the engine.
