Hello Scotty and everyone else!

I purchased a 2016 Lexus ES 350 with an automatic transmission back in April from a private seller. It currently has just a bit over 37,000 miles. Its been a great car, however, within the past month there have been 2 occasions where, after startup, the steering wheel starts to turn to one side without any input. The first time it favored going to the left and when I tried to center the steering wheel it felt as if I had to fight the car, it was resisting. The turning disappears at a standstill and is not so bad at higher speeds (50 mph+), the worst is between 20 - 40 mph. Earlier today it did the same thing except this time it favored going to the right. I'd say at its worst It turns as much as 20 - 30 degrees. The problem is fixed when the car is stopped then turned off and on. Tires were replaced just under 1000 miles so it cannot be an alignment issue.

I'd appreciate any thought and input on this matter. Thank you!

EPS or HPS?

It is a Kentucky made Lexus. I know Scotty talks about the Japanese ones being better built. Though I'm not sure that has much to do with this issue?

What you have a problem with the power steering system when they jerk like that it generally means the system is giving access to one side or the other when it's not supposed to. So you have to have a pro check that system out they're pretty complex systems and not easy to analyze but for some reason it's activating itself without any of your input
