I hope all is well. I purchased back in 2016 a new Jeep Patriot. We use the patriots for our security company.
Water leaks from the dome light above the dash. The car is a mess. I thought it was from the windshield, but after some internet research I found that this is a common problem. I went to the Jeep dealership. They had no clue as to why this is happening.
What do you think sir?

I think that's a perfect example what I'm always saying that Fiat Chrysler products have bad quality control I would go back to them if I were you and say I want all this stuff fixed free they probably won't care and say arrivederci to you. What you can try my philosophy is don't buy another one that's how you get even if they don't fix it free

You are right.
This is a similar problem for Fords. The roof has a "gutter" to let water drain to the four corners and down the posts. It is similar to a raingutter system on a house. Water sheds from the roof to the downspout to the ground.
The problem is the downspout gets clogged and the overflowing water then enters the vehicle. You might run water slowly down this drain system and watch under the vehicle for a hose that is the end of the downspout. Then backflush.
Or, you might try to plug the waterway at the top, above the windshield, with silicone or something. The problem is you have water entering and you must find where. Then either clear the factory design of reroute the water.
It does make me wonder what trade schools the car companies hire from.
The old cars used a drip rail above the windows. Now the "designers" want slick sides under the guise of air flow, BS, so they make it more complicated than it needs to be. We get to pay the price and correct their sloppy work.
I did not take mine out since the leak stopped by itself. Either so full the water did not enter the cab anymore of the drain flushed itself clear. For whatever reason it stopped.
You can probably just run water over the top to check drains without pulling anything. Do one side and then the other.
You might even ask the local body shop what they know about the drain. They might can show you the exit port and flush water back "up" the exit port..
