After listening to your comments on hybrid engines and the cost of battery replacement, I am thinking of selling my 2016 prius which has about 60k miles. I have not had any problems with it what so ever. I want to sell it at a point where the next owner can have some use out of it before something major needs to be replaced. What is the magic number in terms of these battery cells, from a mileage perspective? Also I just had my pm done at the dealer and they are telling me at 60k to have to brake fluid changed. They said the brakes are fine but that is what Toyota says. I think it is one of those money generating things. What do you think? thank you
What is PM?
My 2004 Prius has 300K+ miles. Battery was replaced at 275K miles.

What "Toyota" says about the brake fluid change is BS.
Have them show you something in writing from Toyota about the brake fluid change. Dollars to donuts says they get real embarrassed and red faced.
You’re probably the first person on the planet selling their perfectly functioning 5 yr old vehicle, out of consideration for the next owner/s..
I think (and hope) he means for better resale value.
