Should I fix my hemi tick

Hey scotty i just got a used 2016 ram 1500 lone star with 107+ miles,theres a ticking on cold start and im sure its an exhaust leak,is it something i need to fix now or can it wait?also anything i need to check just in case,its still under warranty😎

Wow! You can wait and let's pray it is old and exhaust somewhere and not the lifters ticking cuz those are notorious for the cams wearing and making a lifters tick

This is the famous Hemi problem of bad hydraulic roller lifters that fail and eat up the cam.  Heads have to come off for replacement of the cam and lifters.

If you have the 5.7L V8, then Scotty is right.  You probably have the famous hemi lifter tick.  That’s the bad news.  The good news is that it is such a common problem that you will have no problem finding someone who can fix it.

Unless you have some kind of extended warranty, I think it’s on you.


I don't think its the lifters tho,it sounds like its coming from the manifolds,hope its not the lifters😵‍💫
