Hello my 2016 RAV4 AWD LE is right at 45,000 miles. What necessary maintenance should be done? Just to clarify it is not the hybrid.

What does your owner’s manual say?  Be sure to have the transmission fluid/filter changed (drain and fill) if you haven’t done it already - do this every 40,000 miles.  Also make sure you change engine oil/filter every 5,000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first.  See your manual for the rest.

Replace the engine oil, engine oilfilter, cabin air filter, and air intake filter (every 5k miles)

Replace the automatic transmission and diff fluid (every 40k, according to my local RAV4 manual-I'd do it every 25k-30k)

Consider replacing the spark plugs, brake fluid, and coolant.

Inspect the accessory belt, rubber tubes and components, test the battery.

ADDITIONALLY, PERFORM ANY MAINTENANCE REQUIRED BY THE MANUAL.

Additionally, you could also replace the PCV valve. It is an inexpensive repair and can save your engine from burning oil down the lane.

on most RAV4 engines it requires removal of the intake manifold, on the rest it's awkwardly stuck on the rear of the block - also on a Toyota with no GDi it makes no sense to replace it at 45k, according to some it doesn't change anything even after 250k, not enough oil vapors to clog it.

Interesting. Is the same applicable to older engines like the 3MZ-FE ? @dan

On 90s Toyota V6s it’s easier to remove and it seems to have more crankcase pressure issues…

Thanks!!!
