Hi Scotty, I recently asked my local Toyota dealership in Charlottetown (PEI) if I should change the transmission fluid in my 2016 Scion TC with 120,000km. The service department technician told me the transmission is a sealed type so the fluid shouldn't be changed. Is this true? Thanks

It is sealed, yes, but the fluid can still be changed. In fact, it should be changed (drain and fill) every 40,000 miles (64,000 km) if you want the transmission to last long. There is no such thing as lifetime fluid.
