Scotty, I have a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with about 80k miles with the 4.3L V6 and 6 speed auto. Engine and transmission have been bulletproof, but the truck has electrical glitches that have been getting annoying: 1. Occasionally, when started, the HVAC controls do not illuminate and cannot be used. 2. Perhaps most annoyingly, on occasions, the regular GM dinging door chime and startup chime are replaced with an awful nails-on-a-chalkboard sound. Both of these issues typically go away after cycling the key a few times or waiting a few minutes. Recently, a new issue has started where my infotainment system will shutdown and reboot while driving. Do you think these issues have a pinpointable and repairable cause? I think it might be a ground but I'm not sure.
You probably have a ground issue inside a wiring loom somewhere. GM electronics have always been poor.
Good luck pinpointing it as chasing it down will drive you to drinking.
