Hi Scotty,
what do you think about the Toyota Aygo in general? I am looking forward for your answer.
Well look. That's not a "Toyota" in the way that a Yaris is, It is a car built by "TPCA" in the Czech republic.
The "Automatic gearbox" (motorized manual) of the AYGO is miserable - It is the terrible MMT from the old Corolla. has only 5 speeds (meaning cursing at 120kmh is not something you should do on this car) and is prone to breaking very prematurely. The 3 cylinder Toyota KR engine is also quite trashy, they sadly do not last like a Toyota should.
In my opinion the Hyundai i10 and Kia Picanto are much better choices (both in comfort, longevity and reliability) although I'd recommend getting something better like a Mazda2 (or a Hyundai i20 although it is quite weak for it's class)
Also, as a side note, I saw the price for a new one was £14,760.00, that is outrageous price! that's only 1.5k less then a Mazda2 - a car you can't even compare to an out-dated, dangerous and buggy car like the AY-GO.

I personally would run away.
It is a car that you should get only if you can find it used, for almost nothing, and it is in very good shape.
side-note:
Very good used cheap city car are typically the Dihatsu Sirion ("M300" all engines and all transmissions are great). I have a friend with one and I never seen a car with 250,000km hold up as well as his one did.
My thoughts:
Pros:
- cheap to buy
- perhaps cheap to maintain
- suitable for city
Cons:
- it's not pure Toyota (mixture of Toyota, Peugeot and Citroen)
- 3-cylinder engine
- 2016: only 2 years old generation
Thank you so much for your answer
You are welcome!
