Hey there,
I have a 2016 Camry that shifts a bit rougher than it used to a week ago. This is mainly in the transition from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to fourth. Any explanation is welcome. Thanks.
it is possible that your gearbox oil is dirty because that was the case with my toyota auris 2007. i have also had the same problem with switching gears. replace the oil that usually works for smoother gear shifting
Any mileage and maintenance history would help.
@porkchophill
64,000 miles and the transmission fluid was changed at the dealer at 60,000 miles
Is your car still under warranty? Make a complaint about the problem.
Can you check the fluid level? Perhaps they did crappy job and did not fill it right.
Can you check the filter? Is it clogged?
For any other issue your car is not old enough yet☺
Toyota issue with torq converter
they will fix it under a tsb if mileage is under 150k miles
we had it fixed on a ‘14 Camry 2.5l
a fluid change did not help ....
it made it a new car in shifting
I agree with G.T.
Did your car act like this before changing the fluid?
@yaser
no it was pretty smooth before
Bring it back to the dealer and have them fix it for free.
Yaser has a good point about how was it BEFORE fluid change. Wonder if incorrect fluid type. Was it a toyota dealer that did the change or a local mechanic?
@porkchophill
Toyota dealer
hello,
Me having same problem with camry (shifts hard for specific gears )2016 le, checked with dealership , it says its okay
car still under powertrain warranty. Few thousand miles left to warranty expire.
what to do?
thanks
Do what @Muddskipper did.
dealer probably flushed instead of drain and fill. they hire incompetent kids that work on minimum wage... go back and get ready for a headache
It has new fluid in it. Drive it for a while the computer may adjust the shift quality for the new fluid.
