Hi, I am looking to buy an 2017 Acura RDX with a V6 and just found out it has a timing belt versus a timing chain. What say you?

Yes, that vehicle has a timing belt. I personally prefer timing chains over belts because the belt has to be replaced to prevent ruining your engine from a snapped belt. Timing chains can virtually last the lifetime of the engine as long as you regularly do oil changes. Very rarely do timing chains fail, unless the manufacturer poorly designed it and has issues.

The only downside is it’s an interference engine. Be sure to change it on time, every 105k miles or 7 years. Be aware of fake timing belt kits on the interwebs.
