Hi all, a friend of mine has a 2017 Ford Edge with 80000 miles. The dash warning light has been coming on for awhile and then going out every so often during a 500 mile trip. The Edge is running perfectly fine other than the light coming on every so often.
I scanned the codes for her and the only one that came up was P051B. I have researched this and was wondering if anyone has had experience with it. I suspect it is the sensor failing but wanted to get the groups opinion. Any ideas?
Please post the actual fault, not just the code. Thanks.
Sorry, according to google it is this: The Crankcase Pressure Sensor tells the engine control module (PCM) how much pressure is building up inside the engine. If the PCM detects an incorrect signal from the Crankcase Pressure Sensor, the PCM will set code P051B.
I can't read the vehicle again because she is back on the road.
Thanks Doc!!
Ford has some known problems with this system. I would research all related TSB's first.
