Hi Scotty,

I have a 2017 Ford transit connect with 75,000 miles. I bought it brand new.  Recently, When I go uphill, I feel vibration and hesitation. I took it to the ford dealership  and they told me it could be the torque converter. They wanted more than $2500 to do the job. I declined and I took to the local transmission shop. They told me the transmission lost programming and needs to be serviced and reprogrammed. They are charging me $340 for re-programing and $500 to flush the transmission. Is this normal? what should I do?

Is your local transmission shop Aamco or one of those types of places?  Has the fluid and filter been changed in 75,000 miles?  It is supposed to be changed about every 30-40,000 miles.

The fluid was never changed. They called me saying they cant re-program the transmission. They say it might be MAF sensor that's causing programing issue. Not sure at this point .

The MAF sensor can just be removed, cleaned with the appropriate cleaner and reinstalled.  I would just have the trans fluid and filter replaced, NOT flushed.
