Hey Scotty,
I am helping someone look for a good used car, and Honda is their preference. I'm recommending a 2017 with the V6 engine because it is the last year that they came with a standard 6-speed automatic transmission. The 4-cylinders have CVTs. Would this be a good year model? I know some Hondas have had oil dilution problems, but I'm not sure if it's just the new 1.5T and 2.0T turbo engines in the 2018 or newer models.
Thanks for your input.
In that year the V6 engine didn't have a problem with that. The problem is with the turbo charged engines. If they can get a NA engine it is the best bet. Also not older than 2015 because in 2014 and 2013 they have problems of burning oil.
2008-2012 had that oil burning issues, then 2018+ 1.5 turbos had oil dilution problem. Honda can't get their stuff right lol
Yes excellent cars 9th gen 2013-2017 both 4 and 6 cylinders.
If they don't care about performance, go with the i4. Plenty of power for a daily driver and great MPGs.
