Scotty,

Love your videos, watch every day.

Thinking of buying 2017 (or later) Honda Accord from dealer.  Should I stay away from turbo engines?  Looking at 2.40 L 4 cyl instead of the smaller turbos.  Also, some of the cars I’m looking at were bought at auction by dealer.  Any reasons for concern here?  Any other advice?  I keep cars a long time.

Thanks

I would go with the 2013-2017 they are equally as good.

2018+ 1.5t avoid. 2.0t is ok.

The 2.4 naturally aspirated engines are good I would stay away from the 1.5T but consider the 2.0T. The 2017 was a different generation and had a good 2.4 engine, while the following years came with either a 1.5T or 2.0T engine paried to a CVT, 10 speed auto, or 6 speed manual.

Honda Accords are good cars. If you're getting a newer one I would suggest going with the 2.0L turbo 4 cylinder model - either with the 10 speed auto or the 6 speed manual. Auction cars can still be good, just make sure you have a trusted independent mechanic check out the car before you put money down, even if the dealer says the car is good (because of course they will tell you that). If they don't let you take the car to your mechanic, just walk way.
