I have a 2017 lexus is350 f sport with a intermit crank but no start, it has 65K miles and it is a automatic with no codes. The crank is very short seems as if the ecm is stopping it from cranking. Only error that comes up on the dash is "power steering low" and "malfunction charge system" but the battery is brand new and alternator is charging when it does run. When this happens the right headlight will stay on even though the car is off. Took it to the dealer and they refuse to work on it, I then took it to my old time mechanic with the scan tool and car cranks runs fine so he can't find any issues. Any idea?
- Pray pray. Pray it's just a worn-out starter motor or weak battery. Have those tested because if not it could be in a computer system and that could be absolute hell. But normally it's just a bad starter or battery
Thank you! I just realized that when I had the battery replaced, they put a smaller battery in the car. The battery that came out the car was a group 34 with 800CCA but the battery they put in the car was a group 24 with 650CCA. I got the correct battery switched out yesterday so far so good, do you think this could cause those issues?
