When I open my rear passenger door it does not appear the door sensor recognizes I am opening that door and the interior light does not turn on. As well as the car will lock by itself if that is the only door open while the car is not turned on(proximity sensor). Is there a sensor that could be damaged? I have no clue and tried researching myself.
You probably need to replace the door contact switch.
Could I trouble you to possibly help me find that part # ?
Rock Auto - Dorman - #85932 - $1.52. Disconnect your battery negative cable when replacing the switch since it is always hot and if accidentally grounded will blow a fuse. Replacement of this switch is one possibility to solve the problem.
