74,000 miles. No transmission services over the life of the vehicle. The transfer case and rear differential have been serviced.
When the vehicle is cold in the morning it will shift hard from 1st - 2nd gear. Otherwise, there are no issues. I trust Toyota and have never had any issues over years and years.
What do you recommend I do??
- drain, drop pan, replace filter, and refill?
- a plain jane drain and fill?
- leave it alone?

I would change the transmission fluid now. You could change the filter as well. But do not flush the fluid- just drain and refill.
