2017 Volkswagen Tiguan Wolfsburg Edition/ 35k miles

Hi Scotty,

My 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan has an EPC and a Motor icon lite on the dashboard. It now starts rough and has a loss of power when accelerating. My local mechanic here in Western NC checked the battery and it is normal. What do these codes mean? My car has 35K miles. Thanks for any help. Love your show! George

What codes?

A diagnostic scan will reveal the malfunction that's causing the trouble light.

Hope you still have warranty if it’s the ECU -

If your Volkswagen has a loss of power when accelerating then you might a serious transmission issue. Or you could have a leak (possibly vacuum), bad catalytic converter or timing belt.

What codes did you get on your vehicle?

The Tiguan does not have a timing belt, it has a chain. Also, I highly doubt it's a transmission issue because the Tiguan uses an Aisin transmission, which is found in many cars including Toyotas.

This is probably engine related, which wouldn't be surprising since it's an EA888 engine.

But what are the codes that you've received from your scan tool? You said in the beginning you got "codes".

I'm not the OP. I'm giving some additional info for you to consider.
