2006 Honda Civic LX works when it wants to…

Hi Scotty, I have a 2006 Honda Civic LX 1.8 liter engine with an automatic transmission that has recently started having issues cranking. About 3 months ago one day i went to crank it and it didn’t crank the first time, then after a few attempts, it cranked. A little while after that I went to start it one day and it would not start, so I watched a YouTube video and they said to try tapping on the starter relay while cranking and to my surprise that worked for a while. Once that stopped working I then replaced the relay and it was having no issues starting for a little while, and then out of nowhere it wouldn’t start again. And I mean it really wouldn’t start, I tried everything. So I got it towed to a mechanic, but he quickly diagnosed it and said it was a bad starter, but I was not convinced so I chose to not replace the starter and towed it back to my house so I could properly diagnose it. When I went to start it a few days later while in my garage it started like nothing ever happened. And I cranked it 3 times just to check and it started without issue every time. Now I have been driving it on and off for over a month now, and when it wants to start it starts but some mornings it just doesn’t want to start. Oh and may I add that the temperature doesn’t seem to play a role on whether it starts or not, also when it wants to start it doesn’t struggle at all to start, but when it doesn’t want to start it makes spinning airy sound which is usually mistaken for a bad starter but I really don’t think it’s that. Could you please help? I don’t want to take my car to a thousand mechanics who won’t properly diagnose it and charge you for it.
