Reading a lot about switching from 0w-20 to thicker oil in '23 Tacoma 30K mi. Is this recommended? 0w-30 or other? More concerned with longevity than fuel economy.
Same question for '23 RAV4 50k mi. using 0w-16.

Please use the site search as this kind of question has been asked here many times before.
A short answer is that using engine oil that does not meet the vehicle manufacturer's specifications can void any warranties in effect and you may or may not experience problems depending on whether the hydraulic action of parts such as cam phasers are affected. (For what it's worth for his own 2026 Camry, Scotty has decided to stick with Toyota's specified 0W8 oil.)
