hye scotty how reliable are the golf alltracks with the 6speed auto and the 1.8 petrols, are they good first cars.

If you’re in Europe (and I’m guessing you’re there cause I don’t think they have this raised wagon version over there) it can be an excellent car.

Big engine and a regular good old automatic make for a decent combo.

that’s probably the best variant of the Golf except for the altrack diesel (I herd it returns above 80 mpg) 

 

as long as you don’t plan to keep it for over 120,000 miles (200,000 km) or 15 years

 

If you’re in the US, don’t get it. The build quality of those is pretty bad there, parts are expensive and mechanics are clueless.
