Looking for a first car, I found a 09 Ford Escape Hybrid for sale, 60k miles, good pricetag, really clean looking. Its got CVT, two electric motors, 2.5 L engine. After doing research is seems to be a very reliable and capable, and long lasting little SUV. I would appreciate a Mechanic's opinion of these vehicles, because I heard somewhere that the internet isn't 100% reliable...crazy right!?

I'm an ASE-Certified Master Tech, if it means anything to you, and I would pass.
An SUV that is a Hybrid is odd enough, but it's an '09. Battery replacement is right around the corner and it will not be cheap.
If you want a fuel efficient little SUV as your first car, look for a Toyota RAV4 or Mazda CX-5. They are both pretty good.
