I have a 2018 4Runner with 20,000 miles that makes knocking noise on cold starts loudest around 1500 RPMs similar to the 4Runner engine noise YouTube video that you posted on Nov 28, 2020. It has done it since it was almost new. Dealer says noise is normal and is caused by piston slap until engine warms up due to short skirt pistons. Did the Toyota dealer ever fix the 4Runner in your video and if so what was the fix?

I don't think there is a fix for that. The new design is like that and Toyota gets many complaints about it but unfortunately, it is the way these trucks are.
