2018 Buick Encore Preferred

I'm taking Scotty's advice and going to trade in my 2012 Toyota Prius (made in Japan) with 189k miles to Carvana. Would the 2018 Buick Encore Preferred with 25k miles for $15k be a good deal? I'm looking for a small suv that's comfortable driving for long periods to do Uber. The Toyota suv's are all over $20k.

Stay away from the Buick Encore.  See video below by Master Mechanic and shop owner The Car Wizard:  you do not want to own the Buick Encore long term, esp. out of warranty.

If you're even thinking of considering a Buick Encore you're not heeding Scotty's advice! There's a reason the Toyota SUVs sell for more than the Buick.

The Buick is a "rolling pile of junk."

If the Toyota is more money than you are willing to spend, you may also look at the Mazda CX-3 or CX-30 (just avoid cylinder deactivation on their 2.5L naturally aspirated engines).  Those don’t have CVTs, but rather a regular automatic transmission (which is better than a CVT).

Honda HRV is very similar. May be lower priced than a Toyota.

Look for a 2019 or newer (transmission upgrade and better seat cushions).

They're pokey, but you don't have a turbo to break.  Better gas mileage.
