Disconnected battery and after connection engine runs very ruff and idles poorly. found engine making lot more noise . took it to a dealer they run diagnostics no codes therefore nothing was done. DOES the computer need to be reprogramed by a dealer because it will not relearn by it self. who had this problem and what was done Please HELP.
The re-learn procedure for some vehicles is 2-300 miles of driving. Patience is a virtue.
By disconnecting the battery, some parts of the ECU is reset, one of them is throttle body. Generally speaking, if you keep driving it, the computer should relearn the idle, but it is good to follow the procesudure for your car. I found this online, hopefully it applies to your car:
