I bought a used 2018 Honda Accord sport 2.0t a few months ago. 26,000 miles now. I was on the highway and heard a hissing noise through the air vent. Then white smoke/steam started to come through the vent and then I started to smell a burnt rubber/electrical smell.
I got off the highway and turned the car off. When I turned it back on and finished driving home, everything appeared normal. It is winter so I don't know if the AC is working, but it still blew heat.
I still have a few months left on the warranty so I took it to the dealer and they are looking at it. They said there is a code that says "problem in blower motor circuit".
If something was shorting out, that might explain the smell/smoke. But what about the hissing noise? I've read that AC systems could do that occasionally and apparently it could be "normal" even though I have never heard that before.
Any thoughts?
Is your cabin air filter clean? If it’s clogged with leaves/debris, it may make some odd sounds.
