2018 Civic should I change the CVT filter along with the fluid?

Scotty, I need to change the CVT fluid on a 2018 Honda civic. There is a pleated paper like filter in a housing called the transmission warmer that the transmission fluid goes through. Honda states this is not a maintenance item and they do not change it. Every DYI video I have seen the person changes this filter with it's O-rings at every CVT fluid change. What would you do? Change the filter or leave it alone. Thanks.

If you can change the filter I would change it! It can't hurt anything. Also make sure you use the Honda CVT fluid.

Is it this part? https://www.hondapartsnow.com/genuine/honda~filter~25450-p4v-013.html?vin=&make=Honda&model=Civic&year=2018&submodel=&extra1=4%20Door%20LX%20(AEP%20ENGINE%2fHDM%20CVT)&extra2=KA%20CVT&filter=()

It's nothing expensive so yeah just change it as it's cheap maintenance compared to replacing a whole transmission. And with Honda it's very sensitive as far as the transmission fluid; do not try to make it cost you less by using any other cvt fluid other than Honda oem.

Scotty didn’t seem to change it in his recent Civic CVT fluid change video -

That is the correct part, FJ cruiser 2014. IT seems easy to change and just extra precaution. I believe you should change the 3 O-rings also just to ensure no leaks?

Yeah just change that too; it was like $5 going from memory.
