2018 Jeep grand Cherokee (Silver 1 A)
So apparently I have 19 fault codes but the dealership does not know which one is possibly making the others trip ( or so they say).
I bought my car brand new in 2018. It now has about 53,000 miles on it and I have not had any trouble until now. It all started with my traction control light being on and I took it in to a dealership 7 months ago. After 3 visit to that dealership and being told that there was nothing that they could do I took it in to a different dealership that tells me that they are also unsure what is causing the issue but are asking me to pay $2500 more dollars for them to keep trying to figure out. It has been 9 months total of no real assistance and I have left my car overnight on more than one occasion. Please help if you can.
Well let's just say they don't make jeeps like they used to. Get all those codes invariably on one of those. It's a problem with the powertrain control module and or wiring. See if you can find a Jeep expert in your area cuz the dealers are all crooks
Copy. So keep my fingers crossed and keep searching for a shop that can fix this……. Or just trade this crap in?
Or just trade this crap in?
Depends only on what you’re offered for it.
It does sound like a wiring / electronic module failure and those are pretty expensive to diag and resolve.
Theres a YT channel that does a lot of that work, Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics, and you can see that it requires a totally different skill set compared to your average mechanic.
They definitely don't have good quality anymore, and dealerships are called stealerships for a reason. Have a trusted independent mechanic check it out to see what is actually the issue. Then see if it's worth to fix then trade it in or just trade it in as it is.
