Hello Scotty,
I have a 2018 Kia Niro PHEV with about 60K miles on it and am looking into the procedure to change the engine clutch actuator fluid. It is a little over due and the manual states to change the fluid at roughly 30k miles. The draining and filling of the fluid is pretty strait forward. But looking at some instructions and methods online, I see people using software to run a program "remove of air from engine clutch hydraulic pressure line." This seems to cycle the actuator off and on for about a minute to bleed the air.
The problem I see here and the question I have is that the software they mention comes from China and they talk about installing old model years and using specific VIN to get it to work. Is there any legitimate non-pirated software or tools that you could recommend for doing tasks like this?
Thanks,
Well I have a machine that does that but it cost $6,500 . Sometimes you can believe it all by yourself manually but if not you're better to just pay a mechanic with a tool I would not trust Chinese software I could destroy your car
Somewhere, some really smart guy will figure out how to do this with a piece of hose and a Mighty Vac so guys like you don't have to keep getting screwed by the dealers.
Thanks, I just got that quoted and the dealer wants $190 + Tax. I tried calling around and can't find anyone else willing to do it for cheaper and some mechanics won't do it at all. Still though, it is a bit cheaper than a 6,500. I just wish they added a bleed valve and a way to manually actuate that. The dealer really has me over a barrel.
