2018 Mazda Sport 3
Hi Scotty, I LOVE your show and I'm a woman!
Can't get a straight answer: What type antifreeze (that will not harm my Mazda) may I use? They tout FL22, etc. Is there anything else on the market that will not harm my radiator/car?
Thanks,
Sandy
The safest course of action is to use OEM coolant. If you can find out the chemistry used, a leading aftermarket brand of coolant using the same chemistry would be OK.
Welcome first-time poster!
Looks like you need POAT coolant. There are definitely a number of options. If you are not completely sure regarding compatibility, I would either get the OEM branded coolant from the dealer or have a good auto parts store look it up for you. Do not use "universal" coolant, which is a misnomer.
Use whatever your owner's manual recommends. Generic versions of coolants are available. For example, I use generic green 50/50 coolant from O'Reilly in my Ford Ranger.
Why use "anything else"? It's best to use OEM fluids if you want to have peace of mind. What does your manual say?
