Do you have any information about the ram ecodiesel. Our pick-up engine went out in Feb 2022 with 115,000 miles on it. The dealer ship cannot get a new engine to replace it. We have tried to go though Rams customer service but they won't give us any answers.
Have you heard anything about this engine.
It doesn’t surprise me. Even though this is a newer generation engine, past generations of the Italian designed engine (Italian-based VM Motori is the company behind these engines) have been problematic, arguably one of the worst diesel engines (in the North American market). The current generation doesn’t seem all that better.
For longevity, it’s best to avoid anything designed by the Italians and FCA in general. Scotty and the forum keep beating that drum for a good reason.
