Hey scotty
I recently purchased a 2019 f150 lariat. V8 with 10 speed transmission. The transmission has not shifted smoothly since I bought it with 10miles on the clock. I now have 15k miles and the transmission is t getting any better. The dealer has told me on three separate occasions that this is normal for the truck. No codes are showing. When slowing down the transmission sometimes moderately bangs. Also when accelerating it feels like it is slipping. What are your thoughts on the ten speed transmission. Is this normal?
Today I noticed it makes a jangly noise coming from the transmission, like when you shift an old manual transmission too soon and the rpms go real low.
Take it to a transmission shop. No doubt they have seen this problem multiple times.
This is NOT normal. I have a 2019 Platinum and it shifts very smoothly. Agree with the above comment about having it checked elsewhere.
There are Several modes for the transmission (I think it’s; eco, normal, sport, snow/wet and towing). Is the problem the same in every mode?
Yes it’s the same in every mode.
Ask the dealer if he can accompany you on a test drive with one of their trucks on the lot. If it's "normal" then they will all behave the same, right?
That’s the next step
Don’t know if it will work; but saw a video where they disabled (not just reset) the TCM learn mode and the problem disappeared.
