My f150 was recently rear ended by a distracted driver, thankfully everyone was ok, their car was totaled. As I inspected the damage on my truck, i noticed the hitch was bent, and I am concerned that there may be frame damage as well. Is there a good way to check for frame damage having not really inspected it before. The car does not seem to pull to one side or another however the fuel economy does seem to be less or its just me. Thanks!
Doubtful. But you need to check, pretty easy. Go underneath and look for stress marks (wrinkles) in the paint. You'll likely find them around the hitch coupling to the frame and not on the frame. This was the weak spot and is designed to be... with that said, did I mention check for where the wrinkles are? ; )
Get a four wheel alignment. Might double check the differential. Eventual tire wear will tell the truth.
